(send a printed copy of these seven things with your payment to reduce chances of error) The fish will be placed ON HOLD until payment is received (in 5 days for a Money Order and 3 days for PayPal). If payment is not received and we don't hear from you, then the fish will be taken off of the ON HOLD designation and become available to other people. Fish are available on a first come-first served basis, but if the fish you enquired about is already ON HOLD another one may be presented to you, if available. No guarantee of Live Arrival is made as both live animals and postal systems are completely unpredictable. However, EVERY EFFORT will be made to ensure that the fish arrive quickly, safely and in top condition. Tracking numbers for your shipment will be provided wherever possible. Receipt of payment implies that you have read and accept all of the above statements and policies. Sorry, but I do not ship into the U.S.A anymore. Too many permits and charges and too far to drive for inspections. I wish things were different. Packaging and Receiving: ACCLIMATING YOUR FISHFish are packaged double-bagged in a cardboard box with a Styrofoam liner. The fish will not be fed the day of shipping nor the day before. This helps to reduce wastes in the shipping water. When you receive the fish open the box slowly, away from bright light. The fish have been in the dark for some time and their eyes will require time to adjust. Float the fish in the bags in your aquarium water to warm them up to your holding temperature for 15 or 20 minutes. When you open the bags and release the fish remember that they may take awhile to look like the fish in the picture. Stressed bettas pull in their colour and clamp their fins until they feel safe. Being able to see other bettas will speed their recovery. I like to feed new fish as soon as possible. It seems to put them at ease knowing that they are going to be looked after in their new location. Some newly-hatched brine shrimp are a nice treat! See the BETTA CARE page for further information. |
